What is it?

Therapeutic impact of being in the presence of an animal is well-known, both scientifically and intutively. Animals do not wear masks, their reactions are both honest and immediate. They are also very in tune with their intuition. Being in close proximity to an animal and observing its behaviour, including their response to us and our response to them, can teach us much about our own internal world.

Working with a qualified and skilled therapist, with the help of the animals you can open up parts of yourself not easily accessible via a traditional ‘talking’ therapy. Especially true for neurodivergent people, animals can help with teaching us to regulate our nervious system and get in touch with the suppressed parts of our psyche and offer a route for the various feelings to emerge. A therapist is on hand to make sense of what is emerging, helping you to process it and find a ‘place’ for it in your internal world.

If you feel drawn to animals and feel that it might be easier for you to access what is troubling you in their presence, consider giving this unique therapy a try. You might be surprised!
